FAQ:
Why 1.15.2? Will you update to newer versions?
I built this mod on 1.15.2 because it’s stable and it was the easiest version to shape around my vision. A lot of 1.15.2 features have also been removed or heavily reworked in this mod.
I don’t plan to update to newer versions, because this project is meant to explore an alternate development path for Minecraft, with its own progression and features. If I moved to newer versions, I’d end up having to remove or undo even more vanilla additions anyway.
So think of 1.15.2 more as a technical foundation.
How is the mod developed?
Divergence is the first mod I've ever made. I wasn't part of the minecraft modding community when I started working on it. I just had a strong vision of the kind of Minecraft I wanted to make and started figuring out how to build it.
So I'm not primarily a programmer. I know a bit of Java and I am good with tech, but I'm mainly a musician and an artist, so I use Codex as a tool to help me with code implementation and to turn my ideas into a working mod.
The code is developed under my direction and carefully tested. I test the mod across several different computers and environments to catch compatibility or performance issues, and to make sure it runs smoothly and behaves the way I want it to.
However, all assets, textures, models, music, the creative direction, gameplay design, features (and how they should work), the balancing, and the overall vision are mine, and were created by me.
So the creative side of Divergence is entirely my own.
