Survival
General
Beds
The sleeping experience is completely overhauled. Beds no longer require wool to craft, but Phantom Feathers instead. Phantoms come in cycles and for the first few nights they won't come at all. Beds themselves are no longer permanent either: each one can only be used a limited number of times before it wears down and breaks. In Divergence, sleep is a luxury rather than a common convenience, forcing you to decide whether it is worth spending one of your valuable nights of rest, or just survive the night. Nights are also far darker, and darkness settings can no longer be changed.

Resurrector
A new block that lets you set your respawn point. It is expensive to craft, requiring Obsidian, Diamonds, and Ender Pearls. It will only bring you back once after death, after that, it breaks. So be careful.
Regeneration
Regeneration is overhauled so food directly heals your HP over time.
Food stacks
The Food stacks are tweaked so better foods take up more inventory space but heal your faster, worse food take up less inventory space but heal you slower.
Difficulty settings overhaul
The difficulty settings are changed so when you create a world you can choose from Monsters On/Peaceful. With monsters on you can only cycle through Easy/Normal/Hard during gameplay, on the Peaceful setting the world is permanently locked to peaceful.
Mob spawners overhaul
Mob spawners now break after a certain amount of time after being activated, except for Blaze spawners. This is so XP farms and mob farms are harder to make. The xp amount from blazes are also nerfed for this reason.
Vanilla mob tweaks
Zombies and spiders are stronger. Zombies break doors more easily. Zombie pigmen have a different AI when they are aggroed. Fish now have a panic mechanic. Many 1.15.2 vanilla mobs are removed and pretty much only the classics remain in the overworld.
Reworked Smoker and Blast furnace
The Blast furnace and Smoker can only use "Magma Fragment" as fuel now.
Compass required for coordinates
In survival, you cannot see your coordinates unless you have a compass in your inventory.
Movement
Stamina system
The hunger bar has been completely removed and sprinting now uses a Stamina bar.
Sprint speed is slower than normal
Overall sprint speed is slower than in vanilla, and there isn't much of a speed difference between sprint-jumping and regular sprinting.
New ways of transportation:
Ziplines
Ziplines can be made using ropes and Zipline anchors. Because of gravity, you can only travel downwards on a zipline.
Minecart coupling
You can couple multiple minecarts together to make trains. You can use them for faster travel, because Furnace minecarts go faster on powered rails now than regular minecarts. Or you can use them for transportation by combining Chest Minecarts and regular minecarts.
Furnace boats
Furnace boats are as the name suggests, boats with a furnace in them. They go faster than regular boats but use fuel in the process.
Glider wings
Glider Wings are a substitute for the Elytra. You can only glide with them and are much more balanced overall.
Jumping boots
A rare item. They let you double jump.
Progression
Discouraged larged scale automatic farms, and automation
Automatic mob farms and XP farms are discouraged in the mod. Hoppers and Observers are removed for this reason.
No Mending
Mending has been removed from the game.
Repair and enchanting overhaul
These systems have been heavily reworked, especially the anvil. Since Mending has been removed from the mod and can no longer be obtained in any form, repair and progression had to be redesigned around that. The anvil no longer uses the same XP cost for enchanting and repairing. Every tool and armor piece now has a condition tier: Pristine, Worn, Damaged, Fragile, and Ruined. As items are repaired, their condition worsens, which gradually lowers their maximum durability over time. This is meant to prevent items from lasting forever, while still being more forgiving than vanilla repair mechanics. You can find rare "Repair Books" in the world, they let you restore the integrity of items, though only up to a certain degree. Enchanting and repairing have also been made cheaper in terms of XP, since mob farming has been greatly reduced.
New Sickle Item for xp
If you harvest crops with it, you have a chance to get some XP.
- Iron and gold ores now drop raw iron/gold and XP.
Combat
Armor durability and protection system
As armor durability decreases it's protection value also decreases to a certain extent.
New armor weight system
Each armor tier has its own weight value. Better armors are heavier and will slow you down more. This only affects sprint speed.
Two options for combat (Timed/Classic):
Timed
Basic 1.15.2 timed combat with nerfed shields, and "second hand" is basically just a shield slot
Classic
Classic combat without cooldown, with a tweaked parrying mechanic.
- Craftable chainmail armor
